In this guide I will try to explain to you how to:
-Clean the IAV valve
-Clean the MAF sensors
-Resoldering the TB PCB
-Fit an Almera N15 airbox
First you have to gather the following tools:
screwdriver set
soldering iron
desoldering pump
pliers
cutter
sillicone
tissues
almera n15 airbox
almera n15 airfilter
KN airbox pipe
CRC cleaner
First thing to do is to remove stock K11 airbox, by removing the clip fixing the box on the throttle body, on the left under the airbox; and the screw on the right under the airbox. Pull hard twisting and it will come off, along with the pipe and the resonator.
First thing we are going to service is the IAV, which usually is full of black dirt on the plug and in the hole:
Spray it with the cleaner, and let it soak, then clean it with the tissue and cotton buds. Be gentle with the o-ring and don't break it.
It should look better:
Cleaning the MAF:
Easier way to do it without removing the TB filtering grill -whic is a pain to remove withtout breaking it- is to enlarge the tiny holes on the grill, and pass the straw of the spray through it. Don't spray to close from the hot wire to not break it. Spray it on the resistor too. Again, be gentle.
Resoldering the throttle body PCB:
Remove the sillicone around the aluminium cover plate with something sharp:
Heat the 3X2raw of solder points, when old soldering is "boiling" vacuum the old soldering with the pump:
Put new solder on the points, the point should now look shiny and bright, not dry or broken:
Now you make a new silicone joint and close the cover:
Fitting Almera airbox:
Just fit it on the top of the throttle body, and tighten the clip under (you can not use the screw on the right side, holes doesn't match anymore). Take your KN pipe, remove one of the black plastic top, it fits perfectly:
